Who can nominate?
Any parent member of the Supported Education Association (SEA) may enter a nomination(Two nominations per family) for the SEAstar Awards. Do you want to nominate someone but you are not a member of SEA? It's easy to join! If you are a parent or guardian of a child with special needs in Districts 97 or 200, simply send your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and child's name, grade and school to seaoakpark@gmail.com.
Who should be nominated?
Anyone involved in the education of students with special needs in Districts 97 or 200 who has made a significant positive difference in the lives of these students. Consider classroom, special education or resource teachers, assistants, therapists, administrators, other school or administrative staff or fellow students.
How do I nominate someone?
Fill out the form (linked here http://www.itd.depaul.edu/Quickdata2/viewwebform.asp?id=3820 ) with all the pertinent information, along with the written rationale for your nomination of no more than 100 words. This description will become the nomination statement which will be used to determine SEAstar winners. All of the nominee's information and this description MUST be included in order for the nomination to be accepted. You will receive confirmation of receipt of your nomination. If you don't receive this confirmation within a few days of submission, please call or e-mail.
What is the deadline for nomination?
Nominations must be RECEIVED by e-mail, website or snail mail by Friday, April 25, 2008. Late nominations can not be accepted.
How will the SEAstar award recipients be recognized?
Each SEAStar award recipient will be recognized in May at the school board meetings in D97 & D200, in addition to receiving a pin & commendation certificate.
