Neal Takiff, attorney, will speak to us about:

- the importance of language
- who to bring to the IEP meeting
- staying focused on solutions

NEAL E. TAKIFF, is a partner with the law firm of Whitted, Cleary +
Takiff, LLC. He was formerly an attorney with the Lake County Public
Defenders Office. Prior to working at that office he worked in the
Cook County Office of the Public Guardian. Mr. Takiff received his
law degree from New York University School of Law and earned a B.A. in
political science and philosophy from Duke University. Prior to
becoming an attorney, Mr. Takiff was an elementary education teacher
for the Houston Independent School District. He was also a school
board member for Community Consolidated School District 46. His
practice is concentrated in the areas of special education law, child
welfare, mental health, and both criminal and civil litigation
(juveniles and adults.)
